Jamestown Cruise 2012?

Are you guys planning on doing the Jamestown Cruise again this year? Last two years it was on the Second Saturday of April. If you want, I can put something together for thesamba and advertise there. April 14th is the day!

I sure hope we do the spring cruise again; that is probably the most favorite event we do as a club.

Yes i intend on puting together the Jamestown cruise this year ,and i know it's right around the corner but i'm working on some car show issues that i want to get out of the way first.Just give me a little more time and it will all be taken care of.I could always use a little help cordinating either event,i don't mind the work involved,but it does really make it alot easier.Thanx!

The last two years this has been the second Sat. of April. Unless this is going to change I'll just post to the Samba and add the event. I'll put on Facebook and the Website, too. It looks like Sat. April 14th would be the date! Bill...let me know if this is OK and I'll do the legwork to get the word out.

I was shooting for the 14th of april,for the Jamestown cruise.This year i think we should meet up at mcdonalds instead of wendy's as wendy's does'nt do breakfast.All of the info. concerning this i'll post later,when we get closer to the date.

oin C3Vs for our third annual Spring Cruise on Saturday April 14th, 2012. Here are the details:

Spring Cruise to Jamestown/Surry and back! Meet at McDonald's on 13131 Kingston Avenue, Chester, VA 23836 by 10am. Once we are all ready to go we will proceed East on Route 10 through Hopewell. Make a left onto Route 156 crossing over the James River until we arrive at Route 5. Turn right (east) on Route 5 until we come to Greensprings Rd (Route 614) and turn right there. Of course, while we are on Route 5 we can stop at any of the plantations to sight see and takes some pictures of our rides.

Once we are on Route 614 take that until it dead-ends at Jamestown Rd (Rt 31) and turn right towards the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry. Then take the ferry across the James. Once in Surry we can grab lunch at the Surry House Restaurant & Country Inn. Afterwards we cross back over the James on the ferry and pull off for some pictures in Old Jamestown. Last year some members of the Peninsula VW Club in Hampton Roads took us on a short drive to some very cool spots to take some neat pictures.

Attention Low Riders: If you can stick your fist under your car, you are high enough off the ground to drive on and off the ferry!!!

April 14th is my birthday my bus won't be ready, someone let me drive a vw!

What you actually mean to say is : hey bill, let me drive your westy on the cruise.

This year if we can manage the time on our cruise we may be able to squeeze in a tour of the Jamestown fort and settlement.I've already checked on this,the cost would be $10 per adult and children under 15 years old free.If you all like this idea let me know,i think it would add to the trip and make it interesting to see the first English colony to be established in the new world.It is definately a history lesson not to be missed.

Yep, we'd be up for the Jamestown tour.

Good to hear it Rory,i'm looking foward to it myself.It would be nice to know what everyone else thinks of the idea,i could use a head count for the people at the Surryhouse rest.

Well i know i posted these on the facebook but the cruise was a huge sucess with 40 vws and 4 clubs attending, vw cruisers, pan air vw club, and tidewater vws. If u missed it check out these pics and videos. I hope the clubs can continue to participate togther. DJ was a huge help filming the videos!!!! Wow.... Hope we can all do it again.
