Chillin....

heys guys , ive been seein yall as much as possible, but school art and the occasional car problem take its toll anyway i wanted to see if yall woudnt want to go to a carshow once in awhile, maybe meet up and cruise to a park, or a river or lake, and cook out or just chill, where we can talk, hang and relax , carshows are cool, but im broke alot so i cant afford em , and parks are free, pretty, quiet and did i mention free? . lemme know what yall think

i agree, its more fun just cruising and going some and relaxing then just cruise up rushing to shows and then leaving as soon as they're over.

Shows are great for the swap meets,and seeing friends you haven't seen in awhile,also you can learn alot if your willing!

i still love going to shows, i just think we should do more then just shows. like the skyline drive cruise was awesome, that would have been super relaxing if it wasnt about 20 degrees that day.

Why do you think i chose not to go that day???We have one coming up the end of Oct.,weather permiting.Just keep up with the fourum and your e-mail.

i dont know if im hittin up the appalachain cruise in the bus....yall think it coud take those hills? it struggles in chester sometimes

my dad and i took brians bay last year, and some other guy came with a 71, we just ended up going in front of all the bugs because of the buses being so much slower, a bus will definitely make it up, just not very quick

Meeting up somewhere and cruising over to a park is a sweet idea. Dave and Taylor...if you guys come up with something specific then it will happen. Set a date and time, pick a place to meet up and a place to cruise to. This is exactly what I did to organize events. It's pretty easy.

If you throw a suggestion out there and offer no specific plan of action it won't happen...your idea will fizzle out like a leaky carburetor...

By the way...I TOTALLY MISS HANGIN' WITH EVERYONE!!! The club out here is OK, but nowhere near as fun as C3Vs...keep up the good work with the club and maybe I'll be back...we still own our house out there!!!

I'm in agreement with Brian,if any club member has a thought or idea concerning a meeting or cruise,event throw it out there!like Jim said before,this is your club!In order for us to be successfull we need your input and participation!Keep up with your e-mail and our fourum for club info!

Maybe some fresh ideas would be something good,I know the last few bi-monthtly cruise-in have been crap.A few of us finally made it to J Rockets last Friday to find no other VWs.

Oct 9-10 & 16-17 Graves Mtn has its Apple Festival. It is a free family oriented event.
The only cost is for food or if you want apples,home applebutter,ect. We go every year. If anyone is interested lets set up a cruise . You can also bring your pets. More info @ gravesmountain.com. Silver City Dinner @ Innsbrook has a cruise in every Sat night & Quaker Steak & Lube has a car cruise in on Sun afternoon.

You guys that are into the show scene, thats fine and all but I enjoy the hanging out, jaw jacking more than trophies and bitching about why your car is better than the guy's that won first place. Just meeting up in a parking lot and eating at a cool joint is my idea of a "club" function. Thats just me though. Dues, t shirts and such are not for me.

Anybody interested in going to Graves Mtn. Apple Festival? Let me know.

I'm all for Scotts idea for the Graves Mtn. Apple harvest festival cruise.I've tried contacting him for the details,and as soon as i get the info.i will post it.Personally i would opt for the weekend of the 16,17.We have also been invited by Grant and String of the V.W.cruisers for a Skyland drive cruise on the 30th.Details once worked out will be sent to all via e-mail,until then keep paying attention to this forum and your e-mail.Any more comments or suggestions are welcome.

This is good participation guys...keep the suggestions coming. I LOVE Scott's idea of the cruise to the apple orchard. Make it happen on the 16th. Last time we headed up east on I-64 we met at the new Target on Midlothian and 288. You guys could meet there in the morning and head up together. Sounds like a fun day!!

I'm with Jeremy, too...the show scene is cool sometimes (I've pretty much stopped going to shows other than VW ones), but I think it's more fun to hang out at a cool place to eat and shoot the breeze with fellow members. We had some GREAT BW3 cruise-ins and it was suggested that the first Sat. of the month cruise-in take place at Quaker Steak and Lube on Broad St. This Saturday is the first Sat. of the month so everyone should plan on meeting there around 5-ish to cruise in!! That is, unless something else has been planned...

I'm good on the 16th for a drive up to the apple thingy.Also,this weekend is gonna be super nice,so i'll be heading to the quaker steak cruise...hope to see more people this time around send them emails,get people motivated

so what are the details of the graves mtn. cruise, are u guys cruising up there from richmond? Coming down from the north its 90 miles for me. I'd like to cruise somewhere a bit with everyone, but idk if I'm coming down from the north. what are the activies gonna be?

Never cruised with you guys , but I would be up to go to the Graves Mtn Apple Festival. Drive a red 70 Camper and live in Midlothian. Would you take rt 64 or would you take the back roads and take it easy? Would love to join but not sure the bus will like driving 65mph for a coupe hours.
