Hey everybody

Post  Slow Steve on Thu 4 Feb - 11:33

I just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Midlothian. My current project is a 67 Microbus. I've done quite a bit of rust repair to it, and still have a ways to go....... not to mention going back and redoing the stuff I have already done..... hey it's my first bus Laughing You know after you have spent some more time welding and fabricating and when you have done something, you think.... MAN I should have down that this way... or man I should have ..... you get my idea. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and post a link of some of the stuff I have done.

Thanks! I still have a ways to go. Cool thing is that I rebuilt the motor and was ble to drive it a bit! I planned on making it a driver/rebuild. I totally striped my 64 bug, body off, everything new.. type restore. I ended up getting this bus, selling it to focus on bus and never driving it. So, I atleast wanted to drive and rebuild this one. When is the next meeting?

Thanks! Rust/metal work is my favorite part of a rebuild. I enjoy the fact that you can see progress the most with metal work. I just noticed that you did that kick booty write up on samba on how to make your beam adjustable. I have the link saved, and plan on lowering my bus in the near future. Do you have a write up on flipping spindles and/or rebuliding spindles? My bus is all over the place when I get to about 45.

I won't make a tutorial for spindles because I don't want to trample business for some of my samba friends but when you get to that point I have no problem helping you and/or answering any questions as you work through it. Its really not hard. The only special tools you have to have a press to get them apart and back together and a welder. I also do things a little different on beams than when I made that tutorial. Hit me up when your ready to start on it.

Yeah.... Now if we can get some warm weather I can get cranking on this thing! Let me know if I can help you out on your bug..... sand/tape/remove/install/sand/buff..... and I'd like to be there when you paint it if that's cool. I just want to see the process and stuffs. What kind of racing did you do? I used to do trackdays with Cornerspeed. Here's a pic

Good to meet you Craig..... suck one! Twisted Evil I'm going to talk really loud and be stand offish until I figure out what you just said (kyle norton jr.)...... Laughing I'm trying to think of something clever to say like it's not about the garage or if you have one, it's how you massage the metal..... I don't know, tht was kind of lame..... I'll get back to you on that one....

Sorry Steve my reply did not come out correctly,I was trying say that you're badass for taking on that much metal work,it looks really good. That garage part is saying that i'm a big puss for not working on anything until it gets to a certain temp.
I hope you accept my apology. Embarassed

No worries! I thought you were just poking a little fun at me, so I did the same. And thanks! No apology needed.
