Re: Who are you?
I've been watching those two, the biggest issue I have is I'm a couple months out from buying one! Hopefully they are still around or something similar is available. All I know is I am going crazy having to wait!

Pm'd you my Email address. Looking at the Va. DMV website, an abandoned title might be tricky. They send a notice to the last registered owner and they have some time to claim the car. I would LOL if someone came and picked it up!

Re: Who are you?
don't rush into a purchase you may not be happy with
other than rust - get as complete a car as possible. all the little parts will not only nickle & dime you to death but drive you crazy trying to find some of them

Re: Who are you?
I agree with taking it slow, R.R. I won't be picking one up for a couple of months as it stands. I would like something that runs and can be driven right off the bat but, who knows what I'll end up with... I will certainly be asking for advice or an experienced ACVW owner/lover to join me when going to check out a car. Maybe we can all go! Lol. We won't miss much with a few sets of eyeballs on the car.

Re: Who are you?
Hey Kermit, nice site! Have you only had the buses or have you owned any Bugs or Type3's? Having been driving an AC since 65, I'm sure you can help with maintenance questions! I tried to check out your forums, but, I've been permanently banned? "A ban has been issued on your IP address." I'm a pretty nice guy, or so I thought!

Re: Who are you?
Wow, that's a lot of vehicles to have owned!! I'm on the hunt for my first ACVW and cannot wait to have one. I love the campers, single and double cabs. Might look for one in a year or two to take the family on trips in!
Thank you for the Admins address, I'll see about getting on the site!

Re: Who are you?
Hi All.
My name is Carter Pegram. Participated in my very 1st car show last Saturday with CV3. Very cool! I had no idea there were still so many air-cooled VW's still on the road.
My wife and I own the red '64 bug convertible.
Back into bugs after a 20 year absence. Owned a rust colored '69 bug, stick-automatic, back in the day. Many good, and not so good, memories of that bug. Fire-drills @ stop-lights when a blown fuse wouldn't let me shift into gear.
How do you join the club? I tried sending an email to want_to_join@c3vs.com but it came back undeliverable.

Re: Who are you?
Just joined the 'club' Got my first bug, a '63 in '72. The car use to be Arthur Ash's when he went to VCU. Went thru some more bugs. Got a job at the Bug Haus in the mid '70's. Worked with Bruce Kennedy, who went on to start The ol' Volks Home in Scott's addition. I went back to electrical work, cleaner. Went thru some more bugs. In 1980, bought the bug, most of it, that I have now. A 1969 Baja Bug. I could write a history book of the adventures with that car since I got it for $100. Have done some VW stuff with Kenny Dostought? (Do Rod) and Steve Verlander who both had VW shops in Sandston during the '80's and '90's. Steve started the Central Virginia Volkswagen Ass. back in the mid '80's. Still have the T-shirt somewhere. Right now I have a '72 Ghia going thru rehab in the garage and a '71 standard that I just had to buy because good deals and choices are getting fewer and farther between. It was great that my bug got enough votes to win a plaque at the last show. Since the Baja's latest re-incarnation, 6 years ago, it's won awards evey year at the Bug Out too. Hope to do some 'hanging out' with some other VW folks as the available pool of ACVWs owners shrinks.
